I'm getting bigger...and cuter!

I haven't been able to visit my precious needs for two weeks or so and I am so sad! They grow up so fast. I hate to be missing everything!!! But I begged my sister to send me some pictures of her today and I decided to share them! She is such a doll. Keep her in your prayers as she has "renal reflux" where the kidneys are filtering properly...it should all work out (hopefully w/o surgery) but it's not fun.

Baby oh baby! Little Madalyn now weighs almost 11 pounds and is growing fast! I want her to stay small! Gosh, she is just precious. I got to spend the whole day with her yesterday - I took off work. Acutally my middle sister flew in from Washington today and I spent time with her too. It was her first time to meet little Madalynn. So much fun!

Solitaire

So...lately it seems like every night I play the game solitaire on my phone to get me to fall asleep. It relaxes my mind and distracts me from the racing thoughts of the day. I LOVE THIS GAME - it's great. This seems to do the trick. So if you ever have trouble falling asleep...play solitaire. I know this was a cheesy blog, but you know...I had the day off and it was NICE! Off to bed with my phone!

The cat bed...oops!

Well, I was getting catfood at Petsmart tonight and they had a bunch of cat beds on clearance, like cheap. So, I bought this thinking it would be big enough for him. Boy, was I wrong. Here he is trying to fit into it. Think I better go and get a bigger one!

Crazy about straws...yes, straws!

My cat Tiger is addicted to straws! Every time I have a straw in a glass, he goes CRAZY! Everytime I come home with a fast food drink (his favorite) he stares at the straw until I finish the drink. It is soooo wierd, but he knows the instant my glass is empty. He jumps on the straw and "hunts" it like a real Tiger. Crazy kitty. He also FETCHES, yes fetches - like a dog. Funny kitty. He keeps me amused that's for sure!

I am 1 month and 5 days old!!!

Miss Madalynn is still tiny at 9.11 oz but is growing healthy. Thank God. It was a scary weekend this past weekend as they were in the emergency room with severe jaundice, heart murmer, fever, vomitting, etc...you name it. Poor thing. Long story short, everything is fine for now. They ruled out liver problems but are looking at her gall bladder and her heart. She goes to the cardiologist on the 23rd - just to be sure. But overall, she is a healthy little girl. Lizzie said she was smiling all day today in her new swing - you can see here!

My heart stopped...

When I saw this precious angel...my heart stopped! She took my breath away. What a perfect example of the Lord's creation! She is beautifully and wonderfully made! Oh my goodness, little Madalynn Kay. I finally got to meet her today and I had a blast. I bought her this rainforest lullaby music thing and she loves it. Natalie Simmons had one just like it for her little boy and it was great. When we opened it up this afternoon and took it out, we turned it on and all of us went into "coma" - it was so relaxing. Literally, yes, my dad was out instantly!!

She is so, so tiny - weighing around 6lbs. Going to her first dr. appt. tomorrow. It's amazing the effect precious little babies, angels really, have on you and your ability to take pictures. I think I took well over 40 or so. But who's counting.

Madalynn's first phone call!

Well, not literally, but her picture came to my phone!!! Here are some initial pictures that Wesley (my brother-n-law) sent me...Isn't she cute?

God is good!

Well, I just returned home from Michigan - by the way, still haven't met my new neice!!! I recieved a call this afternoon from my mom asking me to pray for Lizzie. Elizabeth (my sister), just before getting ready to leave the hospital, was rushed was going numb and from the waist down and wasn't able to move her legs. Needless to say, they were all a little concerned. The doctor's at the time had never heard of this but wanted to rule out the worst (blood clot, infection, nerve damage from epidural (sp?) ) etc.

Needless to say, I got on my knees in the hotel bathroom (the only quiet place) and said a prayer. I instantly had peace and knew that He would take care of her. I thanked Him in advance for her healing. I later recieved a call from my mom telling me that the numbness was getting worse. So I prayed again - trusting that the Lord was in control. I just felt helpless, especially being so far away.

Well, God is good, and good all the time. As I was sitting in the airport getting ready to board, I had a message from my mom. The nurses had come into her room to try to see how to make her comfortable and calm her down until the doctor arrived - well, they didn't need to! My mom and dad were in the hall just praying to the Lord for healing - knowing that God loved LIzzie more than anything and He is always one step ahead. As they entered the room, Lizzie mentioned to my dad that she felt like her leg was being massaged and was turning warm. It was God. She instantly sat up, able to move and with the numbness completely gone. Praise Jesus.

Now, I know that your body can go thru a heck of a lot during childbirth, but the neurologist had never seen anything like this. Hmm.

But thank God she is fine - is feeling a little heaviness in her limbs, but the doctor's said that her body is fighting "something" but they thought she would fully recover and sent her and Madalynn home today! Praise Jesus!!!

Madelyn Kay Huffman

Madelyn Kay Huffman was born at 6:37 pm on August 5, 2008 - 6lbs 10oz.

My mom says she's beautiful! Of course!!! I am so excited to meet her when I return home on Friday. Mom (elizabeth) is doing well after a c-section (sp?). Sweet, sweet baby girl. I'll post pictures soon hopefully! Yea!!!

She's coming!

My neice will be born tomorrow morning!!! I am so excited! Lizzie and Wesley are too! She saw her doctor today and she is almost there!!!! I can' t wait to meet her! I will post pictures soon. Here is one from early on!!! This was at 14 weeks!!!! Her name will be Madelyn Kay. Now my life is complete, one nephew and one neice on the way.

Come On Down...or Out!!!

My sister Elizabeth is due any minute now! The doctor says if she hasn't had the baby by tomorrow, they will do an induction on Tuesday! Sad thing is, I am in Michigan!!! Boohoo! I am so sad to not be there. But I went and visited her yesterday and had some more "bonding" time. I think she already likes me! It is absolutely amazing - knowing that a little baby is inside her. Quite amazing.
